Meeting Special NeedsParklands School This school caters for Pre-school age children with special educational needs. The aim is to assess the child’s abilities and needs and to begin to address those needs. As the child reaches school age a comprehensive assessment is completed and a recommendation is made for an appropriate first school placement. Facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, soft play environment, outdoor play equipment and a wide range of specialist equipment. There is a parent staff association and a respite care scheme. The respite care scheme is currently being extended with a dedicated off-site facility to provide better residential and sleeping accommodation |
Area Network Support Team (A.N.S.T.) HelensburghThis team of five teachers, deployed in primary and secondary schools in Helensburgh and Lomond is based in the Helensburgh area. The service also offers support at the pre-school stage to children with educational difficulties or special educational needs. Referrals may be made through various agencies, including Health, Social and Psychological services. Lomond Early Stimulation AssociationDedicated to helping children aged 0-3 years with special educational needs and their parents and carers , LESA is a group of trained people who work with the children in their home environment The Lomond & Argyll Portage Service is the only formal outlet for the Portage teaching scheme in Scotland, registered with the National Portage Association Totally independent but accountable LESA is a registered charity. |
