How to support our workIf you wish to contribute to the work of the Trust you can do so in a number of ways. First, you can become a member. A form of application for membership is on the reverse of this page. Whether or not you decide to join, you are free to make a donation to the work of the organisation. Should you wish to donate the cost of a tree to be planted in commemoration of a special event or person this can be arranged. If you are a taxpayer and are willing to sign a gift aid form in respect of a donation, this will mean that we can claim money from the Inland Revenue. Further details are available from the Secretary.
We are keen to have people take a special interest in the trees of a particular stret or part of the town. The work would simply involve keeping an eye on the state of health of the trees so that we seek remedial action at an early stage. It is the sort of thing that gives added interest to a stroll around the town or that regular walk with the dog. No deep knowledge of tree biology or tree diseases is necessary! If you are interested, you could become a “Tree Warden” under the auspices of the Tree Council. Should you have other skills that you would be prepared to use to assist with our work, be they typing, computing, publsihing, tree identification, surveying ans so on, please contact the secretary.
It will also benefit the Trust if you simply let others know of our existence. So, even if you are not minded to join yourself, please let others know of our existence and aspirations.
